Do I need to purchase scanning software separately?
No, our software JMStudio is developed in-house and is free to use. It supports 8 major languages and includes scanning, point cloud editing, intelligent point cloud optimization, multi-point cloud alignment, point cloud fusion, and export in OBJ/STL/PLY/ASC formats, and more.
Is professional training required?
We offer comprehensive beginner guides (many can even skip these guides and start scanning directly), along with clear scanning prompts. Focus on scanning, not adjusting parameters.
Is applying markers necessary for scanning?
Seal/Seal Lite use 3DMakerpro's visual tracking technology and require no markers for scanning.
Will the color mode affect model accuracy?
No, color or mono textures are captured by separate texture cameras. Any texture mode won't affect the quality of the geometric model.
What's the difference between Seal and Seal Lite?
Seal supports color texture models and features an aluminum alloy casing. Seal Lite has a plastic casing. Additionally, Seal offers better accuracy and resolution compared to Seal Lite.
Can we directly 3D print the scanned models?
Yes, STL files can be directly imported into all slicing applications.
Can an NVIDIA 1060 graphics card handle the software?
Yes, a 1060 is our recommended configuration. The minimum requirements are Intel Core i5 8th gen, 16GB RAM, and integrated graphics.
Which operating systems are supported by the scanning software?
Windows 10/11 64-bit, MacOS 12/13, for the mobile side used to connect to Smart Grip: Android 10.0 or later, iOS 15.0 or later.
Great little scanner - does exactly as I hoped. Blue light scanning really useful for small (sub-1cm) objects, and great texture on the colour options. Very very pleased!
I also got the turn table and it made a world of difference got great scans right away.

When I achieve a complete scan is pretty ok, but the pain of getting a complete scan is hard. I bought the regular SEAL scanner NOT the lite. I bought it with the handle grip. I use it with an iphone14 Pro and it drives me crazy how much lag there is. I used it with an iphone15 and it was a bit better, but still not professionally usable. They claim you can take multiple scans and merge them together. Well because of the lag it deters me from taking too many scans. It works if you are trying to impress people who are new to 3d scanning, but it is not a pro scanning tool. Also it doesn't come with a bag to carry the scanner and the grip together. I wouldn't recommend this scanner. I think other 3D Maker Pro scanners might be a better investment, but I haven't tested them yet.
Set-up is relatively easy. The scanning software makes it easier to turn out good scans of small objects - it is far easier than the re-work I used to do in other packages. The scanner has two scanning modes: "geometry" for pulling out the fine structure detail of an object, and "texture" for complex colors and other textures. The software let's you merge more than one scan together, so I'm eager to take a scan in each mode, and then align them. The software manual could be better, but so far I've been able to figure most things out.
